Lettergesh Beach was the location for the Innisfree Horse Race. It was during the race meeting that Michaeleen Og sprung the trap on Red Will Danagher, "Two women in one house and one of them a red head". The best advantage point to see this location is by standing with your back to Lettergesh Post Office. The picture below is the stretch of  beach at the end of the race. Where the poles were strategically placed at the finishing line for the riders to collect the bonnet of their choice that the women had placed on the poles at the beginning of the race.
