My wife Sandra took me to Ireland for my 60th Birthday in 2002, our friend took us to Manchester Airport where we took a flight by British Airways to Knock Airport were we had hired a car for our journey. After landing and going through customs we picked up our car and headed out for Cong Village and the Bed & Breakfast we had booked in advance for our stay. It was still early after we had unpacked our case and decided to have a ride back to the village and have a walk round and find something to eat. We saw a Tourist Information Office and went in and asked if they could point us in the right direction to find any of the locations from the Quiet Man Movie. The lady sold us a Brochure that opened up showing a map of Cong Village and pin-pointing all the locations in and around Cong plus directions on how to get to the locations outside of Cong, that night we were looking at the map when Sandra said lets see how many of the locations we can find and photograph them and we had a great time finding them especially Joyce's Tower. After we returned home I put all the photos that I had taken while on holiday onto my computer. I was wondering how I could display them on my John Wayne website. My son came up with a different way to show the locations from The Quiet Man movie and how to find them, by making a map of Cong village. Using film cameras to show the locations in the village of Cong and Ashford Castle Hotel grounds were some of the locations are situated. With a link from the map to the locations outside of Cong with directions on how to reach them, so this is what we have come up with, so why not stay a while and travel The Quiet Man Trail with us. Click The Picture.
