To reach this location I had to turn my back to Pat Cohan's Bar and walk out to the Galway road which is straight ahead. About halfway to the first corner, on the right, is Corcoran's Field. You can see the spire of the Church of Ireland. This was the location used at the beginning of the film when Sean is going to 7 o'clock mass. Two ladies are seen with shawls on their heads, as they walk to mass with the church bells ringing in the background. Three children are seen running through the field these children were John Wayne's children they also appeared in the horse race scene. Continue straight ahead on the Galway Road until you reach the entrance gates for Ashford Castle on your right. There is a cover charge to see the grounds but not to enter the castle.
