Clifden town, the capital of Connemara, was used for two locations. Sean and Mary Kate going to the cattle fair in Castletown passes two locations in Clifden. The first is the Ivy Lodge the second is Clifden Jail which stands back on a small hill Sean and Mary Kate passed both these locations on their way to Castletown. Then after Mary Kate and Sean had a fight at Castletown she again passed both locations on her way back to Innisfree. The road they used to come out onto this road is at the end of the wall on the left of this picture, can you see the give way sign at the end of the wall. They came round the corner there and up the hill into Castletown with the church spire in front of them.
